Moëze-Oléron : low foot-print beach clean ups in France

Moëze-Oléron : low foot-print beach clean ups in France

2 low foot-print beach clean ups in France

On Sunday December 4, 2023, the LPO, in cooperation with the commune of Château d’Oléron, organized 2 low footprint beach clean ups (morning and afternoon).

The aim was to raise participants’ awareness of the consequences of plastic pollution on seabirds and the environment in general, and to put into practice eco-responsible gestures when collecting waste. With the help of the LIFE SeaBiL beach clean-up guide, some twenty participants in the morning and ten in the afternoon collected the garbage littering the coastline of the Ile d’Oléron in an environmentally-friendly manner. In all, no less than 225 kgs of garbage were collected, and some 30 participants were made aware of the issues surrounding plastic pollution and respect for beach biodiversity.

Many thanks to all the volunteers for their motivation and enthusiasm!
