Plastic pollution is a major industrial issue in which consumers play an important role.
LIFE SeaBil Project is committed to raising awareness on these issues amongst the general public, using several interactive information stands on each pilot site. The project will also raise awareness on issues and alternatives in primary and secondary schools on each pilot site. Information boards will be placed in strategic locations to raise awareness on plastic pollution issues and their direct and indirect impacts on seabirds and shorebirds.
As the project progresses, resources will be published on the website so that everyone can work on finding solutions on their local scale but also offer structural alternatives.
Project partners will monitor the results and impacts of the project’s actions by inventorying the Kentish Plover population along the French shoreline each year, monitoring colonies in Berlengas Biosphere Reserve in Portugal, measuring the social and economic impacts of the project, and analyzing the results of different collections.
Dissemination campaigns will be planned to improve the global reach of these environmental issues.
