Following the various beach clean ups and training courses carried out, the LIFE SeaBiL partners conducted a survey among the associations and volunteers who had used the tools made available as part of the project. The purpose of the survey was to draw conclusions for improving the tools, in particular the beach clean up guide and the ICAO application, to ensure that they meet the expectations of the associations and volunteers involved.
The results of the survey were positive about the project’s tools, but highlighted the associations’ wish to have a visual diagram on the guide, so as to be able to distinguish between beach clean-up areas and the dune environment, an area rich in biodiversity. We have therefore reworked the beach clean-up guide to make it clearer and to include a visual for a better understanding of beach ecosystems. The risk maps have also been updated.
The ICAO application is also being updated and bug-fixed, and an improved version is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024.
